Leveraging her in-house counsel experience, Maria provides pragmatic, actionable guidance rooted in practical business considerations.
With more than 11 years of legal practice across law firm and hospital settings, Maria brings experienced counsel to Wolfe Pincavage. Before joining the firm, she served as lead legal advisor for one of the nation’s largest public healthcare systems, supporting key operational units such as Managed Care, Pharmacy, and multiple clinical facilities. In this role, she provided strategic and compliance guidance to executives and key stakeholders, focusing on managed care contracting and negotiations, pharmacy contracting, value-based care initiatives, and regulatory matters involving government healthcare programs including Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicare Part D, and Medicaid. Maria’s experience also includes navigating federal and state laws governing patient privacy and health information confidentiality, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and related state privacy laws.
Prior to her in-house work, Maria practiced at a Miami-based law firm where she represented clients in complex insurance coverage disputes in state and federal courts.
Maria earned her B.A.I.S., cum laude, in Political Science and International Studies from the University of Miami and her J.D. from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.
